Broadband

Broadband is available in many different flavours and speeds, dependent upon your exact requirements. We again partner with several different key suppliers to ensure the integrity and service levels for what are now critical Internet and VPN access solutions.

We are able to offer service levels, a range of speeds and even Quality of service for voice applications.

Our standard ADSL service now runs at up to 8Mb downstream and 756k upstream (depending on location) although this is not guaranteed due to Internet interaction.

Other services include low contention services, Symmetric DSL (same speeds upstream and downstream), Local Loop Unbundled (LLU) up to 24Mb and router supply and network implementation. Other services will be rolled out as they become available – we expect full uncontended broadband with service levels for high speed network tail pipes in the next few months!

Mobile Data

Mobile Data is the means by which businesses can communicate with employees in the field. Usually, this involves databases within the corporation being updated by employees using small handheld devices which are permanently connected – via a GPRS telephone signal – to the corporation’s network. Call Routing Plans

CPS or Carrier Pre-Selection is an indirect voice service that enables the routing of calls via a carrier other than BT, without the need for any equipment on site or programming telephone systems.

• “Prefixing” of the call is inserted at the local BT exchange
• BT still maintain and service the lines

Non Geographic - Proactive Networks can offer a full range of UK non-geographic numbers such as Free-phone 0800, local rate 0845 and national rate 0870 numbers. Using non-geographic numbers encourages contact from both existing and potential customers. Non-Geographic numbers are available in the UK and several other countries.

There are several different types of Non Geographic number for you to choose from:

•  National Rate Numbers - Using National Rate numbers, callers pay no more than they would for a normal call outside their local area.

•  Local Rate Numbers - Using Local Rate numbers, callers pay no more than they would for a normal local call. Here, however, the cost of the call is shared between the caller and the service provider.

•  Free-Phone Numbers - Using Free-Phone numbers, callers do not pay for the call. The cost of the call is paid for by the service provider.

•  UK Non-Geographic Numbering - Proactive Networks offer numbers in the 08 prefix range operate at competitive rates.

Geographic Numbers - (also known as Local Area Code Numbers, UK Town Numbers and STD Codes) all begin with the digits 01 or 02 and relate to a City, Town or Area in the UK . Ofcom has allocated Proactive Networks with more than 6 Million Local Area Code Numbers that cover over 650 different Area Codes in the UK . This means that Proactive Networks is one of the very few Operators that can provide 100% coverage for UK Local Area Code Numbers.

Geographic numbers can be used if you are advertising your products or services in the Yellow Pages, Thomson Local Directory or a Local Town newspaper. Research conducted in July 2007 by BT Business has shown that two thirds (66%) of consumers would rather buy goods and services locally and three quarters (77%) of people prefer to call a Local Area Code number close to where they live.
